Best Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have these cookies on my recipe page with pogirlshines.com as Po’ Girl Chocolate Chip Cookies .  I have now found a way to make them healthier, less fat, cheaper and they still come out plump, soft and delicious!  I must have my treats, love chocolate and if I can’t make them super healthy, at least they are less bad for me.  The human body does need some fat daily, as long as you don’t over do it.  I come from a family with type 2 Diabetes and am borderline myself.  I really try to keep my weight normal or slightly below out of fear.  If you have family members that have been obese and really sick from it, it gives you that extra incentive to exercise and to think before eating anything.  I have always been a yo-yo, some will say in more ways than one, and I will gain weight fairly easily like most, but try to lose it right away.  I suffered from gestational diabetes with my first child in which I did gain about 50 lbs, which I made sure I lost right away.  It was pretty easy as I was a dance teacher at the time, so lots of daily exercise.

Carob chips are not an option for me in these, but make any changes as you desire.  You can enjoy these knowing that you are getting more fiber, half the fat and sugar that you find in the original Toll House Cookie recipe.  Way less sugar shock to the body.

Po’ Girl Chocolate Chip Cookies Revised

Prepare these the same way as the Toll House recipe calls for on the package of chips you’ve purchased.

FYI:  I bake mine at 360 for about 9 minutes for Tablespoon size dollop of dough.  The dough will be stiffer and you can place them fairly close, not much spreading occurs.
